Senior CNC Machinist – Multi-Axis Mill/Turn (2nd Shift)

What You’ll Do:
As a CNC Machinist, you'll be responsible for independently setting up and proving out complex jobs on multi-axis machining centers and mill/turn machines during second shift.

This role is ideal for an experienced machinist who enjoys solving technical challenges, taking ownership of machining processes, and building stable, repeatable setups capable of running efficiently. You'll work with some of the best CNC machines on the market:

• DMG Mori DMC 65 Monoblock (6-pallet automation)
• DMG Mori DMU 75 Monoblock
• DMG Mori NTX 2000 Mill/Turn
• DMG Mori CTX Beta 1250 TC Mill/Turn (with robotic automation)

Second shift operates with significant autonomy. You'll be expected to make sound technical decisions, troubleshoot issues independently, and collaborate with first-shift programmers and engineers to continuously improve performance.

A good machinist can make one good part. A great machinist builds a process capable of producing quality parts consistently and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently set up and operate multi-axis CNC milling and mill/turn equipment
• Prove out new jobs and troubleshoot machining issues with limited engineering support
• Verify tooling, fixtures, workholding, and machine readiness
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements
• Make offsets, process adjustments, and toolpath modifications as needed
• Inspect first-piece parts and verify conformance before releasing jobs to production
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and unattended machine operation
• Manage multiple machines and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Help develop less experienced machinists by sharing knowledge and best practices
• Maintain organized, repeatable setups that support long-term process stability

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience with significant setup responsibilities
• Experience setting up complex 5-axis or mill/turn machines
• Ability to independently troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup-related issues
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
• Willingness to mentor and support the development of other machinists
• Meet the definition of a U.S. Person, as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with DMG Mori equipment
• Experience with pallet systems, robotic automation, or lights-out manufacturing
• Experience with in-process probing systems
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other high-precision industries
• Programming experience for troubleshooting and process optimization
