Senior Commercial Biller

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Commercial Biller to join our dynamic finance team. Duties

• Prepare and review complex commercial invoices, ensuring accuracy in line with contractual agreements and industry standards
• Manage accounts receivable processes, including posting payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving billing discrepancies
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to process transactions and generate reports
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations during all billing activities
• Collaborate with internal departments and external clients to resolve billing issues through negotiation and effective communication
• Perform account analysis and reconciliation to maintain precise financial records
• Support revenue cycle management initiatives by analyzing data trends and recommending process improvements

Requirements

• Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a focus on billing or accounts receivable functions
• Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or equivalent systems; experience with medical billing or CPT coding is a plus
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding standards, and healthcare billing procedures is desirable
• Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is advantageous
• Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for data entry and account analysis tasks
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining high levels of customer service via phone etiquette and professional communication skills
• Strong mathematical aptitude with proficiency in 10 key typing and analysis of financial data
• Experience working within compliance frameworks such as SOX or other regulatory requirements related to financial reporting
