What you will do as Senior Communications Advisor:
- Support internal business partners and design them outcome-focused communication strategies, including the creation, delivery, and evaluation of external communications across advertising, websites, social media, andother channels.
- Prepare project and work plans detaling measurable milestones and outcomes; monitor project and work progress and manage priorities; deliver work activities within the agreed timeframes to a high standard.
- Understand and comply with existing operating policies, standards and procedures and deliver strategic advice to stakeholders on the appropriate course of action.
- Support the team'scontinuous improvement agenda, contributing to the development of new communication policies, standards and procedures, and the introduction of new tools, as well as supporting internal business partners in understanding and adopting these.
- Work in close collaboration with others to leverage expertise in the development of communication and marketing strategies and be responsive to changing stakeholder needs.
- Deliver timely and meaningful campaign reports to stakeholders, evaluating objectives, measuring activity, and providing actionable insights.
- From time to time, manage special projects such as market research programs, including procurement of providers and contract management.
As a Senior Social Media Advisor, you will:
- Apply your skills and expertise to community management and content production for the ACCC's social media accounts. This may include the ACCC primary brand, National Anti-Scam Centre and Scamwatch accounts.
- Create high-quality, engaging social and multimedia content that captures attention, builds brand presence, and drives audience engagement across platforms.
- Effectively monitor and moderate social media channels to ensure community standards are upheld, respond to audience interactions appropriately, and manage potential risks in real time including escalation. This includes social media crisismanagement when required.
- Implement the ACCC's Social Media Content Strategy and Governance and Risk Framework, and ongoing development of the ACCC brand's social tone of voice.
- Engage in social listening activities to provide insights to the immediate branch andbroader agency about competition and consumer issues and recommendations for communications responses.
- Work with senior executive leaders to harness opportunities for social media to promote the ACCC's strategic direction and goals and communicate complex information in a compelling way.
- Assist in the delivery of specific online projects, campaigns and digital advertising, including using social media during key events (for e.g. speeches and media conferences).
About you:
As a Senior Communications Advisor, you will have:
- A demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective strategic communications plans.
- Experience adapting, editing and writing content, in accordance with house style, and ensuring content is engaging, accurate, relevant and accessible.
- A demonstrated ability to effectively engage, influence and work collaboratively with others, including the ability to influence and inform people at all levels in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- A demonstrated ability to contribute to the development and implementation of new workflow processes, channel and content strategies, and communications policies (for example, brand policy).
- Experience with managing external suppliers and contracts including experience critiquing creative concepts across a variety of communications, including web, social and advertising.
- Tertiary qualifications in digital media, communications, marketing or public relations (preferred but not mandatory).
As a Senior Social Media Advisor, you will have:
- The ability to write succinctly and clearly, understand the communication needs of target audiences and communicate in plain English.
- Experience in using distinct tone of voice and brand personality in written mediums.
- Background in managing social media communities and channels, including graphic and video content creation, response management and moderation.
- Effectively plan, organise and prioritise a demanding workload including the development and use of content calendars.
- Effectively engage and work collaboratively with senior executive leaders and all other levels.
- Experience with social media management and listening tools, and creative and video production tools such as Canva.
- Tertiary qualifications in digital media, communications, marketing or public relations (preferred but not mandatory).
