Senior Consultant - EMEA Macro Consulting

Oxford Economics, a leading economic forecasting and consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant to join our growing EMEA Macro Consulting team, with the role based in Riyadh. This role offers significant career development opportunities, with the prospect of accelerated progression based on performance and achievement of agreed KPIs. Over time, there is potential to grow and lead a Riyadh-based team.
The initial role scope will be focused and narrower during the first 3-6 months, to allow for effective onboarding and integration into our EMEA Macro Consulting and wider consulting practice. Following this period, there will be opportunities to expand responsibilities based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement
  • Lead on-site project management and client engagement at client premises, typically for more than one project at a time
  • Extensive client-facing contact across diverse economic and government advisory consulting projects
  • Serve as primary point of contact for government clients in KSA and across the GCC region
Project Delivery
  • Represent the technical project team in client project meetings and present aspects of technical work to senior stakeholders
  • Provide direct non-technical input to project production and final deliverables, with opportunities to expand technical and economic knowledge and skills over time
  • Ensure project deliverables are suitable – in terms of content, format and technical detail - for the GCC government client audience – including to a non-technical senior audience and more technical less senior audience as appropriate
Account Management & Business Development
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
  • Manage key accounts and identify opportunities for expanded engagement
  • Take initiative in business development activities, working collaboratively with the business development sales team
  • Participate in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across the region
Proposal Management & Sales Support
  • Lead proposal management, production, and coordination, with support and technical input from the senior team and technical team members
  • Deliver compelling client pitches and presentations, with support from the senior team and technical team members
  • Contribute to the development of winning proposals that align with client needs and organizational capabilities (OE capabilities and for consortia bids, also capabilities of other partners and experts)
Travel & Regional Presence
  • Travel within the GCC region as required (most clients are KSA-based)
  • Maintain flexibility to support client needs across different locations

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential
Language & Communication
  • Arabic language proficiency (written and verbal) - essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Ability to produce suitable project deliverables – in terms of content, format and technical detail - for the GCC government client audience – including to a non-technical senior audience and more technical less senior audience as appropriate
Professional Experience
  • Proven project management experience, including collaboration with client project management offices (PMOs)
  • Ability to manage more than one project at a time
  • Demonstrated client engagement capabilities, including with senior client counterparts
  • Previous Middle East public sector consulting experience covering project management, production, client engagement, proposal management, and business development
  • Specific experience in KSA is highly valued
Technical & Operational Skills
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and across different offices
  • Strong capability to deliver high-quality work to tight client deadlines
  • Excellent entrepreneurial mindset and initiative-taking approach
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
