Role Summary:
ReEngine seeks a dynamic and versatile Senior Consultant to fill a unique hybrid role that combines proactive business development with expert consulting delivery. This individual will be a key player in driving our growth and ensuring client success. The primary responsibilities will shift between strategic business development and hands-on continuous improvement consulting, based on the evolving needs and strategic priorities determined by ReEngine.
As a business developer, you will be a true hunter, responsible for identifying and shaping new business opportunities within the Federal, State, and Local (SLED) government sectors. As a consultant, you will play a pivotal role in driving organizational excellence for our clients by facilitating collaborative processes and implementing innovative solutions. This position requires an agile professional who is passionate about both building the business and delivering exceptional results.
Position Type & Structure: This is a flexible, project-to-project consulting role. The level of engagement and required hours will vary based on active client needs and business development priorities, as determined by ReEngine. There is no expectation of a set weekly number of hours.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties of this role are divided into two primary functions. The focus at any given time will be directed by company needs.
1. Business Development & Strategic Growth:
- Strategic Planning & Market Analysis: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan to achieve sales targets. Conduct continuous market research to identify emerging trends, understand agency missions, and monitor competitor activities.
- Relationship Management & Networking: Identify, develop, and maintain trusted relationships with key agency decision-makers, executives, and program-level influencers. Represent ReEngine at key industry events to build the firm's brand and generate leads.
- Opportunity Identification & Pipeline Management: Build, manage, and execute a qualified, customer-focused pipeline of opportunities. Proactively identify and track government contracts, moving beyond reliance on public portals to uncover leads before they are widely known.
- Capture & Proposal Support: Lead pre-RFx capture efforts by providing strategic intelligence, competitive analysis, and win theme recommendations. Provide critical input during the proposal development phase to ensure alignment with client needs.
2. Consulting Delivery & Continuous Improvement:
- Facilitation: Lead and moderate workshops, meetings, and other collaborative sessions with client teams to drive effective problem-solving and decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile using tools such as process/value stream mapping, interference diagrams, etc.
- Change Management: Support client organizational change initiatives by developing and executing effective change management plans.
- Data Analysis: Analyze client data to identify trends, find root causes of issues, and measure the impact of improvement initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of client organizations including, executive leadership, to ensure project alignment and support.
Example Initial Project: GQI Master Class Launch
To provide a concrete example of the hybrid nature of this role, the first key project will be to lead the business development and marketing efforts for ReEngine's new Government Quality and Improvement (GQI) Master Class. This is a premier course designed for public sector professionals globally.
- Objective: To develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and sales plan to successfully launch and fill the initial GQI Master Class cohorts. The primary objective is to fund the marketing investment from the revenue generated by the first two classes.
- Target Audience: The campaign must appeal to two personas: the "Student" (a high-potential government practitioner) and the "Sponsor" (the executive-level decision-maker or procurement officer).
- Key Activities: Responsibilities will include developing the strategic marketing plan, creating content (email copy, digital flyers, promotional video scripts, website landing page content), and driving the campaign to generate leads and convert them into attendees.
- Interview Context: Candidates should be prepared to discuss their initial strategies and high-level ideas for this project during the interview.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive professional experience, with a proven track record in government-focused business development and continuous improvement consulting.
- In-depth knowledge of government procurement processes, including a working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), GSA Schedules, and/or state/local procurement regulations.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing a multi-year pipeline of qualified opportunities and a portfolio of successful consulting projects.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with C-level executives and senior government officials.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and data analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Agile).
- Experience in both business development and management consulting roles.
- Experience leading capture efforts for large-scale opportunities.
- Experience working in a government or public sector environment.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $114,688.19 per year
