As our CAS practice continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Senior Controller/CAS Manager to lead client engagements, oversee accounting operations, and serve as a trusted financial advisor to our clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled accounting professional who enjoys both leadership and client-facing advisory work in a fast-paced public accounting environment.
Position Overview
The Senior Controller/CAS Manager will oversee a portfolio of client accounting engagements, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and provide strategic financial insights that help clients make informed business decisions.
This role combines traditional controller-level responsibilities with a forward-thinking advisory approach, including financial reporting, process improvement, budgeting support, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Advisory & Financial Oversight
- Serve as the lead advisor for a portfolio of CAS clients across multiple industries
- Review and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Provide strategic insights on cash flow, profitability, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Support clients with operational and financial process improvements
Accounting Operations
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure accuracy of general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review staff-prepared workpapers, journal entries, and account analyses
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal control best practices
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and review the work of CAS team members
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
- Collaborate closely with tax and advisory teams on client deliverables
- Help manage workflow capacity across the CAS team
Process Improvement & Technology
- Standardize accounting workflows and best practices across client engagements
- Leverage technology platforms such as QuickBooks Online, BILL, and payroll systems such as Gusto
- Identify automation opportunities and operational efficiencies
- Support implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or CAS Manager
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience overseeing full-cycle accounting operations
- Prior experience managing multiple clients, entities, or business units preferred
- Public accounting or outsourced accounting/CAS experience strongly preferred
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills
- Experience with QuickBooks/QBO, BILL, Gusto, Xero, and similar platforms
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Pay: $95,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
