Hiring Department: VP Research
Reports To: Director Research Relations and Strategy
Job Location: Onsite, El Paso, TX

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends
FLSA status: exempt
Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary: $46,550 annually
Required Application Materials:
The Research Partnership Relationship Coordinator will support the Director of Research Relations and Strategy in managing and cultivating relationships between the university, government agencies, and industry partners. The position will focus on building and maintaining strategic partnerships to advance the university’s research priorities, specifically emphasizing Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Energy (DoE) collaborations. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of the partnership landscape, and the ability to manage multiple projects and foster lasting relationships.
Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Relationship Building: Manage and cultivate relationships with key government officials, faculty members, and industry partners to support the university’s research and strategic objectives.
Partnership Development: Assist in identifying and pursuing new opportunities for collaboration, particularly within the DoD, DoE, and related federal agencies.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work with Director in ensuring consistent communication and assist with fostering strong relations between the university and its partners.
Project Coordination: Coordinate efforts across multiple departments to ensure successful execution of partnership projects, ensuring that timelines, deliverables, and expectations are met.
Proposal & Agreement Support: Assist with partnership proposals, agreements, and contracts in compliance with DoD/DoE processes and university policies.
Legislative Awareness: Stay informed on relevant congressional delegations and legislative developments in areas related to energy, defense, national security, and research funding.
Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication between internal teams and external partners, ensuring all parties are aligned on goals, expectations, and progress.
Event Planning & Support: Organize and support meetings, events, and workshops designed to enhance collaboration and build relationships between the university and external partners.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
and
Experience: Three years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
