ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a Senior Chemist you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of product development, including formulation design, ingredient selection, and product testing, to ensure the highest quality and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cosmetic chemistry, formulation development, and leadership in the cosmetic manufacturing industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and manage the research and development team in development of innovative formulations, including hair products and other beauty products.
• Develop and formulate new products and improve existing formulations to meet customer needs, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct research on cosmetic ingredients, raw materials, and technologies to identify new trends and opportunities for product innovation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing to develop product concepts and bring them to market.
• Oversee all aspects of product development, including formulation design, stability testing, and product performance evaluation, to ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
• Manage the formulation development process from concept to commercialization, including scale-up and production trials, to ensure successful product launch.
• Formulate and develop cosmetic products such as skincare, haircare and color cosmetics, considering market trends and consumer preferences.
• Stay informed about regulatory requirements and ensure all cosmetic products comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and address any formulation challenges, working towards continuous improvement and optimization of product formulations.
• Keep accurate records of formulations, experiments, and testing procedures to maintain a comprehensive database.
• Provide technical support to various departments, including marketing and sales, addressing inquiries and providing technical information.
• Stay abreast of emerging industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory changes related to cosmetic chemistry and product development.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Cosmetic Chemist in the beauty industry.
• In-depth knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, raw materials, formulation techniques, and industry regulations.
• Proven track record of developing successful cosmetic products and bringing them to market.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot formulation issues and provide technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Creativity and passion for developing innovative cosmetic products.
• Experience with regulatory requirements and quality standards for cosmetic products, including FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Proficient in using laboratory equipment and software for formulation work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
