We have partnered exclusively with a US based, publicly listed energy company with ambitious expansion plans. The Gulf is an important region for them, and this will be their first hire on the ground in Abu Dhabi, covering regional work.

• Sole Counsel position reporting to the US, essentially you’ll be running your own market, deals and projects.

What you’ll be doing:

• Acting as the face of all things legal for the Middle East.
• Supporting all internal business units across legal and compliance matters.
• Overseeing immediate projects, drafting and negotiating the associated commercial, corporate, oil and gas contracts and associated risks within.
• Relationship management across local partnerships, vendors, third parties, Head Office and outside counsel.

Who you’ll likely need to be in order to succeed:

• Common law qualified with experience from sophisticated geographical energy markets (Gulf, US, Europe etc). Seniority will need to be between 10-20 years’ PQE.
• Top tier law firm backgrounds are highly sought after, ideally combined with in-house energy work.
• Strong blended skill set that covers broad oil and gas, energy, projects, corporate and commercial.
• Those based in the Gulf right now will be prioritised, overseas applications are welcome, but only if you have previous Middle East experience.
