Title : Data Analyst Senior
Location: Mclean, VA - 5 days onsite

The candidate must have experience with the following:

Intermediate SQL skills and any RDBMS (Snowflake is highly preferred)

Reading Python code, and Pandas

The candidate must have experience in mortgage, or loans, or finance, particularly with deals involving loan processing, to work effectively with the rules engine in the loan application
Must Have Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of relevant experience. Must have advanced SQL skills and the ability to read and understand Python code. They need strong analytical and excel capability, along with financial background. Must be a team player.
Key Responsibilities:

Outstanding proficiency with Excel for data analysis of complex datasets, data quality validation, data reconciliations, and data transformation for inputs and outputs of forecasting processes.

Collect and write detailed data transformation and financial process requirements.

Create high-quality and high-complexity project deliverables, focused on requirements, reconciliations and test results.

Create and maintain technical, process and data-related documentation.
-
Support acceptance testing; create and execute test cases, reconciliations and regressions; analyze and reconcile complex test results using Excel and SQL.

Improve and automate validations and input preparation processes.
-
Maintain, update and track development features and stories in JIRA.

Troubleshoot, track and resolve project issues, project dependencies and configuration changes.

Lead the analysis, requirements and testing of financial reports using SQL and advanced Excel.

Perform complex data and reports analysis involving financial, forecasting and risk data.

Create engaging and detailed materials including user guides, specification documents, release notes and testing results.

Support a variety of project management activities, including control requirements and execution, issue troubleshooting and analysis, data conversion and cataloging, and user training.
Qualifications
-
Degree in accounting, quantitative finance, statistics, mathematics, economics, data analytics or a related quantitative field preferred, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.

Extensive experience using advanced Excel efficiently is required.

Experience working with large data sets and relational databases.

Outstanding quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent presentation, communication and writing skills.

Ability to use SQL to query and display large data sets while maximizing the performance of workbooks.

Proven experience writing SQL to query complex data structures and working with analytics.
-
Expertise with financial statements and general ledger/subledger data is strongly preferred.

Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.

Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience working with different databases and understanding of data and financial reporting concepts.

Experience with implementing or modifying financial systems or applications, preferably related to accounting functions.

Compensation:
$65.00 – $70.00 per hour. This is the targeted compensation range for this role per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
