Senior Design & Development Manager – Data Centre Construction
My client is a leading AI cloud infrastructure provider, delivering large-scale GPU clusters for AI training and inference. Their vertically integrated platform is supported by an extensive portfolio of grid-connected land and data centres across renewable-rich regions in North America.
They are seeking an experienced Senior Design & Development Manager to report into the VP of Project Development & Delivery. This is a high-impact role focused on site origination, campus master planning, and front-end engineering—turning early-stage opportunities into build-ready projects.
The successful candidate will lead campus-level design strategy, guide technical direction, and ensure projects align with business standards, scalability goals, and operational performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site master planning and conceptual design for new data centre campuses
- Drive front-end engineering to ensure designs are scalable, buildable, and operationally efficient
- Translate development opportunities into technically robust, execution-ready plans
- Partner with development, engineering, innovation, and construction teams
- Manage external architectural and engineering consultants from concept through detailed design
- Ensure alignment with internal design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Support due diligence, feasibility studies, and design standardisation initiatives
- Facilitate a smooth handover from development into delivery
Requirements
- Approx. 10+ years’ experience in data centres, mission-critical environments, or large-scale infrastructure design/development
- Background in engineering, architecture, or related discipline
- Experience with campus master planning and front-end design
- Strong understanding of data centre systems, constructability, and design standards
- Proven ability to manage consultants and cross-functional stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar tools
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
