Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our data team. This role is critical for designing, building, and maintaining our robust data architecture, ensuring high-quality data pipelines that drive key business intelligence and analytical decisions. The ideal candidate is an expert in diverse database systems, advanced ETL processes, and complex data warehousing concepts.

Key Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Development & ETL

• Design, develop, and maintain complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT processes using Python and Talend.
• Develop robust, scalable, and highly performant data solutions for business intelligence and analytics.
• Implement data quality checks, data validation, and monitoring processes within all ETL jobs.

Database and Data Warehousing

• Serve as the subject matter expert in developing and optimizing complex SQL queries utilizing advanced analytical functions (e.g., window functions, common table expressions).
• Apply expert knowledge of Data Warehouse (DWH) modeling techniques (e.g., Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, 3NF) to design and optimize data structures.
• Demonstrate proficiency in managing and integrating data from a variety of databases, including Mongo DB, Teradata, Oracle, Gauss DB, IBM DB, Postgres, and MySQL.

Technical Environment & Tools

• Utilize and maintain expertise in the Linux bash scripting environment for automation and job orchestration.
• Work with reporting and visualization tools, specifically Microstrategy, to support downstream reporting requirements.

Project Leadership & Communication

• Lead and manage complex, end-to-end data projects, ensuring delivery meets technical specifications and business timelines.
• Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including product managers, business analysts, and leadership, translating technical complexities into clear business implications.
• Possess strong presentation skills and be proficient in designing clear, compelling data-driven presentations to share insights and project updates.

Domain Knowledge

• A deep knowledge of Fintech Domain Required

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience: 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
• Expert ETL Tools: Proven, hands-on expertise in writing complex ETL logic using Python and Talend.
• Advanced SQL: Expert-level proficiency in writing and tuning complex SQL queries and utilizing advanced analytical/window functions.
• Data Modeling: Deep knowledge of DWH modeling principles (Star, Snowflake, etc.).
• Database Expertise: Hands-on experience with the administration, querying, and performance tuning of a diverse set of database technologies, including Teradata, Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, Mongo DB, Gauss DB, and IBM DB.
• Scripting: Strong proficiency in Linux bash scripting for automation.
• BI Tooling: Familiarity with the Microstrategy reporting tool is highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage projects, handle ambiguity, and present technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
