Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Engineer with AI specialization to join our team in Jeddah. Focused on the Saudi capital markets, this role is critical to managing the complete lifecycle of our data and AI products. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise and advanced Python skills to build scalable pipelines, develop predictive models, and deliver actionable market insights.

Data Engineering & Cloud Infrastructure

• Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, robust data pipelines for real-time and batch processing using GCP services (Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Data Fusion, BigQuery, Bigtable).
• ETL/ELT Optimization: Build and optimize high-performance ETL/ELT workflows utilizing Python.
• Serverless Processing: Utilize Cloud Functions and Cloud Run for efficient, serverless data processing.
• Infrastructure Management: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting across the GCP infrastructure. Optimize cloud resource usage for cost efficiency and high performance.
• Data Governance: Enforce data quality, security, and compliance standards using Dataplex, Cloud Data Catalog, and IAM controls.

AI & Machine Learning

• Model Development: Develop and deploy AI/ML models for predictive analytics, forecasting, and market trend analysis.
• Advanced Processing: Perform feature engineering and preprocessing using Vertex AI Workbench, Data Refinery, and Python libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Pandas).
• Product Lifecycle: Manage the complete lifecycle of AI products, from design and development to deployment, maintenance, and continuous evaluation.

Market Data Analysis & Integration

• API Management: Integrate and manage data APIs from third-party financial service providers, automating extraction, transformation, and loading workflows.
• Market Intelligence: Analyze structural and unstructured market data for the Saudi stock markets (main and parallel).
• Data Visualization: Build comprehensive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Looker, Tableau, or Power BI to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Project Management & Collaboration

• Project Leadership: Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with core business goals.
• Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with external vendors for API integrations, data feeds, and system enhancements.
• Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Education & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of dedicated experience in data engineering, AI/ML engineering, or related cloud roles.
• Project Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading end-to-end project execution and product lifecycle management.

Technical Skills

• Programming: Strong scripting and programming skills in Python (hands-on with Pandas and NumPy) and SQL.
• Cloud Computing: Proven expertise with GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI, Cloud Storage).
• AI/ML: Knowledge of machine learning models, statistical analysis, and frameworks like TensorFlow and scikit-learn.
• DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• BI & Analytics: Proficiency in data analytics environments (e.g., Jupyter Notebook) and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

Domain Knowledge & Soft Skills

• Financial Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Saudi stock markets (Tadawul and Nomu), financial data sources, economic indicators, and market dynamics is a strong advantage.
• Communication: Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.

• Location: Candidates must currently reside in Jeddah or be able to relocate independently.
