Scantrust is currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer (based in Amsterdam) with the following scope

Key Responsibilities of our Senior Data Engineer:

• Develop and expand our existing data platform.
• Make architectural design decisions and communicate tradeoffs clearly with senior management.
• Continuously improve and maintain data ingestions & pipelines from internal and external systems.
• Collaborate with business and analytics teams to design insightful visualizations, define KPIs, and support ad-hoc analytical needs.
• Work with product and technical teams to gather requirements for data storage and processing architecture that can handle our growing needs.
• Prepare us for the age of agentic AI.

Experiences & Education

• 5+ years of data engineering experience, including migration projects
• 3+ years of SQL experience
• 3+ years of Python
• 3+ years of experience with a reporting system (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc)
• Creating and maintaining operations and financial data pipelines
• Managing AWS cloud data services (Glue, DMS, Athena preferred)
• Setting up and managing a cloud data warehouse (Redshift preferred)
• Hands-on working with Airflow or an equivalent orchestrator in production (Dagster, Prefect)
• Solid understanding of data modelling: dimensional modelling, slowly changing dimensions, and event-sourced schemas

Other Desired Skills

• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Process oriented with great documentation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
• Experience with AI tooling. (experience developing MCP servers or other AI connectors is a big plus)
