Senior Data Engineer (AI-Driven ETL)

Overview

Propwise is building one of Dubai's most advanced real estate intelligence platforms - but our biggest challenge is data.

What You Will Do

• Build, optimize, and maintain ETL pipelines that transform extremely unclean data from multiple sources.
• Design automated workflows to handle:
  • Missing fields
  • Invalid IDs
  • Messy formats
  • Duplicates and conflicts
• Integrate AI models into the ETL flow to:
• Auto match entities across datasets
• Auto clean and standardize fields
• Auto detect anomalies and inconsistencies
• Build intelligent logic to improve accuracy over time using feedback loops.
• Enrich missing data by scraping public websites and create automated pipelines that plug gaps in the data and reconstruct missing attributes.
• Build reliable, scalable data warehouse structures optimized for analytics and BI. Create models that support property-level insights, time series analysis, ROI calculations, and automated reporting.
• Write highly optimized SQL for processing millions of rows. Design indexes, partitions, and query optimizations for large PostgreSQL datasets.
• Work closely with the Tech Lead and product team, bring ideas, propose solutions, own the data infrastructure end to end, and introduce best practices for versioning, monitoring, and validating data quality.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Deep experience working with extremely messy, incomplete, unstructured datasets.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL expertise.
• Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with tools such as Python, Airflow / Prefect / custom pipelines.
• Experience implementing AI inside ETL pipelines:
• Matching & deduplication models
• LLM based auto cleaning
• Classification / clustering for entity grouping
• Experience with web scraping (Python requests, Playwright, Scrapy, Puppeteer, etc.).
• Strong understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and normalization.
• Ability to creatively solve data gaps, inconsistencies, and impossible to map relationships.

Bonus (Huge Advantage)

• Experience in PropTech or real estate data (DLD / Ejari / property listings).
• Knowledge of AI data matching techniques (embeddings, similarity search, vector DBs).
• Familiarity with tools like dbt or equivalent modeling frameworks.

Location

• Must be in Dubai or willing to relocate.
