Senior Data Engineer, Banking System

Client: Our client is a British bank, one of the largest finance companies in the world. The bank was founded three centuries ago, and today its assets are estimated at trillions of US dollars.
Position overview: As a Senior Data Engineer you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust ETL pipelines, enhance data warehousing solutions, and ensure high data quality to support strategic business decisions. This role requires hands-on expertise in data engineering best practices, a deep understanding of financial data workflows, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.

• Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows to support the Invoice Finance domain
• Lead the technical design of ETL processes ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading from various sources
• Conduct data modelling, data wrangling, and tuning to enable high performance and accuracy in data warehousing solutions
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to support feature engineering and analytics needs
• Implement automated data quality testing frameworks to ensure the reliability and accuracy of data
• Support migration and integration efforts involving Oracle, Snowflake, and Informatica platforms

• Requirements: Extensive experience using RDMS, ETL pipelines and SQL
• Experience of ETL technical design
• Good understanding of data tuning, automated data quality testing
• Solid experience with data warehousing, data modelling and data wrangling
• Strong experience of Oracle/Snowflake/Informatica and Feature Engineering
• A good understanding of modern code development practices
• Good spoken English

• Nice to have: Experience with Streamsets
• Experience with AWS
