Role Objective

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of a modern data estate. The primary focus is building a robust end-to-end data pipeline within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, migrating and ingesting data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and diverse external sources into a structured Data Warehouse using the Medallion Architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabric Environment Setup: Architect and configure the Microsoft Fabric environment, including Capacities, Workspaces, and Lakehouses/Warehouses.
  • Data Ingestion: Design and develop scalable ingestion patterns from MS Business Central (BC) using APIs, OData, or native Fabric connectors, alongside other SQL/NoSQL and cloud-based data sources.
  • ETL/ELT Development: Utilize DataFlows (Gen2) and Fabric Pipelines to orchestrate complex data movement and transformation logic.
  • Architecture Design: Implement a Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) to ensure data quality, lineage, and a "single version of truth" for the business.
  • Warehouse Management: Optimize Data Warehouse performance within Fabric, ensuring efficient partitioning, indexing, and Delta Lake storage management.
  • Governance & Security: Implement best practices for data security, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and Workspace-level permissions within the Fabric tenant.

Technical Requirements

Microsoft Fabric Ecosystem: Expert-level knowledge of Fabric components (Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering, Synapse Data Warehouse, and OneLake).

Dynamics 365 Integration: Proven experience extracting data from Microsoft Business Central and handling its specific schema complexities.

Medallion Logic: Deep understanding of structured data layers (Raw/Bronze, Cleansed/Silver, and Curated/Gold).

Data Modeling: Strong proficiency in SQL and Star Schema modeling for enterprise reporting.

Power Query / DataFlows: Advanced skills in building low-code/no-code transformation logic using DataFlows for complex business requirements.

Language Proficiency: Advanced SQL is mandatory; Python (PySpark) is a significant plus for advanced Fabric notebooks.

Soft Skills & Remote Specs

Client Management: Ability to communicate technical roadmaps clearly to stakeholders in the MENA region.

Autonomy: Experience working in a fully remote setup with high accountability and proactive reporting.

Problem Solving: A track record of resolving bottlenecks in data refresh rates and API limitations.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203).

Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600).

Prior experience working with clients in the Lebanese or broader Middle Eastern market.

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
