Senior Data Engineer - with EHR Experience

Providence Technology Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with ETL, AWS and/or Azure, ESB, DevOps, and MDM experience AND who has specifically worked with Electronic Health Records (EHR) .

The client has indicated that this position can be remote, however, the consultant MUST

1. Live within the Continental USA.

2. Be able to travel to the client offices in California up to 8 times a year.

3. Be available to work Pacific Time Zone hours between the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM., Monday through Friday, except for State holidays.

The successful candidate will meet ALL the mandatory qualifications and as many of the desirable qualifications as possible listed below:

Mandatory Qualifications

• 4 + years of experience in authoring and monitoring data pipelines.
• 5+ years of experience in documenting data definitions, mapping electronic health record (EHR)-required templates, and standardizing values.
• 5+ years of experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes: profiling, cleansing, and transforming legacy system data.
• 5+ years of experience with DevOps, Business Rules Engine, Master Data Management (MDM), Data Analytics, Metrics and Reporting technologies.
• 3+ years of experience with design, build, and optimizing data pipelines in Amazon Web Services, and/or Microsoft Azure environments and/or near real-time data replication via the MuleSoft Service Bus (ESB).
• Possession of a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (master's or PhD) in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or technology-related field.

Desirable Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with data protection and security best practices including understanding of Protected Health Information (PHI)
• 2+ years of experience working with public sector clients (federal, state, county).

This position is expected to begin in May 2026 and will run for 36 months.

This is a relatively fast-paced environment where a proactive approach is appreciated. Candidates may be asked for references and sample work products. The selected candidate will be subject to a background check.
