Senior Database Developer

Location: Hyderabad, India

Job Mode: Hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days remote)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Developer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise-grade databases using Microsoft SQL Server. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience with MS Excel and MS Access, particularly in building data models, reports, and automation tools that support business operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, and functions.
• Optimise database performance through indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning.
• Develop and maintain Excel-based tools and reports using advanced formulas, pivot tables, and VBA macros.
• Modernize legacy MS Access applications and migrate data to SQL Server where appropriate.
• Collaborate with application developers to support integrations and data pipelines.
• Implement data governance, security, and backup strategies.
• Document database architecture, workflows, and technical specifications.
• Provide mentorship to junior developers and contribute to code reviews and best practices.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3 – 8 years of experience in database development using SQL Server.
• Proficiency in T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Strong experience with MS Excel (including VBA) and MS Access.
• Familiarity with data migration, ETL processes, and job scheduling.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure SQL or AWS RDS.
• Knowledge of Power BI, SharePoint, or other reporting tools.
• Experience with My SQL
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Exposure to insurance, consumer benefits, or COBRA domains.
