Senior Demand Planning Officer

Primary Purpose:

The Senior Demand Planning Officer is responsible for overseeing the demand forecasting process, ensuring accurate demand predictions and aligning them with supply chain capabilities. The role involves analyzing historical data, collaborating with key stakeholders, and using advanced planning tools to create actionable forecasts that drive inventory management, production planning, and procurement decisions. The Senior Officer will also mentor junior team members and work closely with sales, marketing, and logistics teams to align supply and demand efficiently.


Key Accountabilities:


Core:


  • Lead the demand forecasting process by analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and external factors (e.g., seasonality, promotions).
  • Develop and maintain accurate demand plans using forecasting tools and software (e.g., SAP, Excel, demand planning systems).
  • Provide insights into future demand patterns and communicate any potential risks or opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Regularly communicate with regional and global teams to ensure alignment on demand forecasts and adjustments.
  • Monitor and adjust forecast accuracy through regular review cycles, working with other departments to refine planning processes.
  • Leverage data analytics and performance metrics to improve forecast accuracy over time.
  • Prepare and present detailed demand forecasts, key metrics, and analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in demand planning processes through advanced analytics, automation, and best practices, such as implementing Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) methodologies
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to forecast accuracy and inventory management.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and create reports to provide actionable insights for decision-making.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field.


Experience:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics coordination.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and warehouse management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel


Language:

Strong verbal and written communication in both Arabic and English.
