We’re Hiring | Senior Design Manager
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead the design delivery of high-profile construction and development projects. This role is ideal for a senior professional with strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams from concept through completion.
As Senior Design Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring design excellence, compliance, coordination, and successful project execution in alignment with client expectations, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full design lifecycle from concept, schematic design, and detailed design through IFC deliverables.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams including Architecture, Structural, MEP, Landscape, Sustainability, and specialist consultants.
- Ensure alignment of design outcomes with the client’s vision, project objectives, operational requirements, and approved budget.
- Conduct regular design reviews, technical coordination workshops, and quality audits to ensure consistency, constructability, and design integrity.
- Serve as the primary design interface with clients, stakeholders, and authorities, preparing and delivering design presentations and submissions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international codes, sustainability standards, and project specifications.
- Support project planning, risk management, and value engineering activities in coordination with the Project Manager and commercial teams.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to design staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance working environment.
- Monitor design progress, manage deliverable schedules, and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in design management within a consultancy or multidisciplinary environment.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale, complex development or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of design coordination processes, BIM implementation, and QA/QC standards.
- Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and related software platforms.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, RIBA, AIA) are advantageous.
