Description


We are looking for a Senior Director of Growth Enablement to join our growing, distributed team at Coforma.

As the Senior Director of Growth Enablement, you will lead Coforma’s Growth Enablement team including Proposal Management, Technical Writing, Growth Operations, and Intelligence. You will take responsibility for delivering enablement and support for new and organic growth opportunities through process alignment, capacity management, tooling, strategy, planning, and execution.
In this role, you will work in tandem with leaders on the Growth team to engage and align internal and external stakeholders throughout the opportunity lifecycle. In addition, you will provide hands-on capture and proposal leadership for Coforma’s most strategic opportunities. By following our processes and bringing improvements to our team through your expertise, you will ensure every opportunity has the highest chance of resulting in a win. You will ensure our Business Development and Solution Architect teams have everything needed to execute Win Strategies and build meaningful collaboration with our Delivery and Operations teams.

$188,490 to $191,580 Annual Salary + Benefits + Growth Potential
Placement within this range will be based on the competency level of the candidate. An offer will be made at one of the following tiers:
  • Tier 1 - $188,490: Experienced and fully competent. Will be able to independently perform key responsibilities of the role once onboarding is completed.
  • Tier 2 - $191,580: Highly experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed.
To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable.

This is a US-based remote position open to applicants in the states listed below. Some travel will be required.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)


  • Manage the Growth Enablement team composed of proposal managers, analysts, and technical writers who will report to you and provide guidance and coaching/training to expand and develop their skill sets
  • Drive process oversight including change management, audits, retrospectives, capture and proposal strategies, templates, slide decks, trainings, and other reusable artifacts to streamline and improve processes
  • Oversee the creation of proposal content and approve all final products to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, persuasiveness, and compliance
  • Lead strategic opportunities through the Pursuit and Proposal phases by creating detailed and fully compliant cost/price proposals models, narratives, and business volumes in response to requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotation (RFQs), rough order of magnitudes (ROMs), contract modification, and other client requests
  • Ensure your team is timely and comprehensive in their proposal and technical writing duties, including but not limited to analysis of RFI/RFQ/RFP requirements, development of the proposal schedule, outline, and compliance matrices and implement quality control procedures to ensure all proposals are error-free and compliant with submission requirements
  • Own and maintain the integrity of the CRM, communication tools, content repositories, and partnership database, including demographic clean-up, updates, new inputs, and coordination with the Growth and Delivery teams
  • Track the contract vehicle database and identify opportunities Coforma can pursue, providing analysis to stakeholders and generating summary statistics and reports to support analysis and reporting
  • Present your own and your team’s work in all forums such as weekly team reviews, meetings with partners, and report-outs to leadership and understand how to best use these forums to serve the unique demands of your current projects and initiatives
  • Represent Coforma at conferences and industry events and work with the BD and Executive team to ensure customer and teaming partner contacts and conversations are recorded and follow-up actions are tracked to closure

In Your First 30 Days, You Will:
  • Complete new hire orientation training and meet with external counterparts and key stakeholders across the org
  • Learn about the Growth team’s process for pursuing new opportunities and become familiar with the active pipeline
  • Shadow other members of the Growth team and familiarize yourself with our standard operating procedures
  • Begin tracking opportunities in customer portals

After 60 Days:
  • Assume all core functional responsibilities of the role
  • Document your process for completing work against established guidelines
  • Track the time spent on specific tasks to establish Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Conduct a deep dive into past performance and contract vehicles
  • Represent Coforma at industry conferences and events in a professional manner
  • Identify skills or knowledge gaps and establish a professional development plan for yourself

After 90 Days:
  • Optimize and improve existing processes as needed
  • Assume full responsibility and accountability for all functions associated with the role

Who You Are and What You Know (Knowledge and Experience Requirements)


  • A minimum of 8 years of directly relevant experience as a Proposal Manager, Bid Manager, Capture Manager, or similar role leading Growth enablement in the digital services, software development, or IT consulting services markets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with proven experience writing, reviewing, and editing technical proposals, oral pitches, and associated materials and ensuring all content is crafted in a unified, consistent voice
  • Deep experience developing and implementing innovative process improvements that make the proposal creation process more efficient, consistent, and easier to execute
  • Strong situational awareness and a high degree of comfort with ambiguity and able to provide guidance, leadership, and expertise around pricing strategies and approaches to bids and proposals
  • Collaborative, cooperative, and a strategic thinker who leads by example and thoughtfully nurtures relationships to help drive prioritization across multiple projects
  • Wide appreciation of the digital services landscape and an intermediate-to-advanced level of understanding of human-centered design and product development methodologies
  • Passion for and interest in improving government services for citizens with the ability to create, support, and foster ideas that innovate and reframe end-user expectations
  • Full-time resident of the contiguous United States (must be legally authorized to work in the US now and in the future without sponsorship)
  • Must be able to successfully pass any applicable background and/or security checks as needed

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • Veteran of the US Armed Forces
  • 2 or more years of experience working on a remote team or remote freelancing
  • Strong understanding of human-centered design, agile software development, and product development
  • Experience writing or editing proposals (government or otherwise)
  • Familiarity with productivity and communication tools such as Google Suite (gDocs, gSheets, gSlides), Slack, Monday.com; sales CRM platforms; and market intelligence software
  • Experience developing and implementing AI solutions for federal growth
  • Experience pursuing state and local government opportunities
