Senior Director of Talent Acquisition

AIPAC is searching for a visionary Senior Director of Talent Acquisition (TA) to lead and evolve our recruiting strategy and infrastructure. This role is central to ensuring we attract, engage, and retain top talent in support of our mission and continued growth. The Senior Director will build and optimize scalable systems, processes, and partnerships that strengthen our national recruiting efforts and align with the organization’s priorities.
As AIPAC operates in an increasingly dynamic political and organizational environment, this leader will help ensure our workforce remains strong, adaptable, and mission-driven. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, the Senior Director will oversee a national recruitment function, championing excellence, collaboration, and a thoughtful approach to identifying and developing talent.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Systems and Process Architecture: Lead the transition from reactive hiring to a proactive, "unified tech stack" model. This includes auditing and optimizing UltiPro, our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring a seamless, "data-driven" recruitment engine.
- Employer Brand Stewardship: In collaboration with Marketing and Communications, refine and promote AIPAC’s employer brand. Leverage our industry-leading benefits to position AIPAC as a premier employer of choice for "high-impact" professionals.
- Predictive Talent Intelligence: Serve as a key contributor to AIPAC’s "predictive analytics" forecasting workforce needs across our regional offices and national headquarters. This includes managing the recruitment lifecycle for all roles.
- Inclusive and De-Biased Recruitment: Champion the use of research-backed, de-biased language in all recruitment materials by fostering a sense of "belongingness" through communal and mission-driven communication and expanding reach to diverse talent pools.
- University and Fellowship Partnerships: Partnering internally to support "campus recruiting efforts" and career center relationships, to build a new graduate pipeline.
- Leadership and Team Mentorship: Manage and empower a national team of recruiters that focuses on "internal optimization," providing continuous learning opportunities that create and develop best-in-class talent acquisition strengths. Leads the interface of TA with compensation and benefits to strategically align rewards with roles and attract top talent.
- Technology Governance and AI Strategy: Serve as the lead strategist for "AI integration" within the TA function, including AI-powered "interview scheduling," "resume screening," and "candidate matching," while ensuring rigorous security standards.
- Partners with HR leadership: Aligns offers with established compensation strategy, providing informed input on candidate compensation and escalating market-driven gaps or constraints to senior leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of executive leadership, technical sophistication, and a deep commitment to our mission.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Professional Experience: 10+ years in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field; MBA or Master’s in Organizational Development helpful.
- Technical Expertise: Proven track record of implementing and optimizing enterprise-level HR/ATS systems such as UltiPro or similar.
- Industry Background: Significant experience in high-stakes, non-profit development space.
- Management Scale/Other: D.C.-based role; Hybrid in office 2 – 3 days per week. WFH Wed/Fri standard. Experience leading remote or hybrid teams of professionals across multiple geographic regions.

Working knowledge of compensation fundamentals, including market benchmarking, survey participation, and job leveling, with a solid understanding of internal equity, pay parity, and competitive positioning.
- Strategic Analytical Ability: Working knowledge of compensation fundamentals, including market benchmarking, internal parity, and competitive positioning. Proficiency in using "machine learning models" and "historical data analyses" to optimize hiring workflows and capacity planning.
- Interpersonal Excellence: A demonstrated ability to build "trusting relationships" with senior leaders, lay members, and external partners.
- Operational Agility: The skill to manage "boom and bust" hiring cycles (typically concurrent with election years), while maintaining a "calm and productive" environment under pressure.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $195,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as education, experience, qualifications, leadership background, and overall alignment with the responsibilities of the role.
Pay: $175,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
