Senior Draughtsman – Railway & Roadways

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Draughtsman specializing in railway and roadway infrastructure, with a focus on Right-of-way (RoW), bridge & Structure design and detailed drawing preparation. The role involves producing accurate, high-quality technical drawings, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and supporting design teams in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design drawings for railway bridges, road bridges, flyovers, and related structures.
• Convert engineering concepts and calculations into precise CAD drawings and construction-ready documents.
• Ensure drawings comply with IRC, IS codes, and Railway standards.
• Collaborate with structural engineers, architects, and project managers to finalize designs.
• Maintain version control and documentation of all drawings for audit and compliance.
• Review and update drawings based on site conditions, design changes, and client requirements.
• Support tender documentation and provide drawing inputs for BOQ preparation.
• Train and guide junior draughtsmen in best practices and quality standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma/ITI in Civil Engineering/Draughtsmanship (or equivalent).
• 8+ years of experience in drafting for railway and roadway bridge projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, or similar CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of structural detailing, reinforcement drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and digital drawing management systems is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret engineering calculations and translate them into accurate drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Work on railway Main Line & Road RoW & bridge design projects
• Exposure to highway flyovers, culverts, and grade separators.
• Experience in government/PSU projects and familiarity with tender documentation.
• Knowledge of geospatial integration for infrastructure drawings (optional but desirable).
