About the Company

We are a leading Design & Build MEP Contractor in Dubai, specializing in fit-out and large-scale building projects. As part of our expansion into mid-rise developments, we are seeking a highly capable Senior Electrical Engineer to support the successful execution of a G+10 building project.

Role Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing the complete electrical scope of the project—from design development and authority approvals to execution, testing, commissioning, and final handover. The role requires strong technical expertise, site experience, and coordination skills within fast-paced project environments.

Key Responsibilities.

1. Design & Engineering

• Prepare and review electrical load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short circuit calculations
• Perform cable sizing and design of MDB, SMDB, and DB systems
• Develop lighting design layouts and conduct lux level calculations using industry standards
• Review and coordinate earthing and lightning protection systems
• Ensure all designs comply with UAE regulations and project specifications

2. Execution, Site Coordination & Authority Approvals

• Review shop drawings and as-built drawings for accuracy and compliance
• Manage material submittals and obtain necessary approvals from consultants
• Supervise installation works, ensuring adherence to QA/QC standards
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and civil teams for seamless execution
• Handle submissions and approvals with DEWA
• Coordinate with Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) for Fire Alarm and life safety systems
• Address consultant comments and ensure timely resolution

3. Testing & Commissioning

• Lead electrical testing and commissioning activities
• Ensure proper energization of systems in compliance with safety standards
• Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues
• Ensure successful project handover and documentation completion

4. Commercial & Technical Coordination

• Review BOQ against drawings and specifications
• Identify discrepancies and report variations
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize cost without compromising quality

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience, with UAE experience mandatory
• Proven experience in high-rise building projects (G+15 and above preferred)
• Strong knowledge of DEWA regulations and DCD approval procedures
• Hands-on experience in design, execution, and commissioning phases

Software Skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Revit (preferred)
• Dialux / ETAP or equivalent electrical design software (advantage)

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Prior experience with Design & Build MEP contractors in the UAE
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong technical problem-solving and coordination skills
• Capable of handling responsibilities independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and reporting skills
