Position Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for various projects. This role involves overseeing engineering teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, conducting technical reviews, and providing expert guidance throughout the project lifecycle. The Senior Electrical Engineer also collaborates with cross‑functional teams to deliver safe, efficient, and cost‑effective electrical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Conduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical installations.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant codes and standards (IEC, NEC, DEWA, etc.).
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for electrical engineering tasks.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and draftsmen.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and architectural teams to ensure seamless project integration.
- Evaluate and approve electrical materials, equipment, and vendor submissions.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and propose effective solutions.
- Support tendering activities, including BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and technical evaluations.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, etc. or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
