Job Summary:
The Senior Electrical Technical Office Engineer is responsible for managing all electrical technical office activities including shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, quantity take-offs, value engineering, and coordination with other disciplines to ensure compliance with project specifications, Saudi Codes, and contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Design Responsibilities

Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs related to electrical systems.

Prepare and review
shop drawings
,
as-built drawings
, and
electrical layouts
(Power, Lighting, ELV, Fire Alarm, CCTV, BMS, Access Control, Data & Telecom).

Prepare and review
material submittals
, ensuring compliance with project specifications and Saudi standards (SEC, SBC, NFPA, IEC).

Prepare
method statements
and
technical calculations
(load calculations, voltage drop, short circuit, lighting lux levels).

Provide technical support to site execution teams and resolve technical issues.

Ensure coordination with mechanical, civil, architectural, and other disciplines.
Quantity Surveying & Cost Control

Prepare detailed
quantity take-offs
and assist in BOQ preparation.

Support variation orders, claims, and change management.
-
Assist in
value engineering
proposals to optimize cost and performance.
Coordination & Approvals
-
Liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities for technical approvals.
-
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for technical compliance.
-
Attend technical meetings and provide technical clarifications.
Quality & Compliance

Ensure electrical works comply with
Saudi Building Code (SBC)

SEC requirements
,
NFPA
, and project specifications.

Participate in inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.

Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping as per QA/QC procedures.
Leadership & Management

Supervise and mentor junior engineers and draftsmen.

Monitor technical office deliverables and ensure timely submissions.

Support project planning and progress tracking from a technical perspective.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in
Electrical Engineering
.

Minimum
7–12 years
of experience in construction companies (KSA experience preferred).

Strong experience in
buildings / infrastructure / industrial projects
.

Proficient in
AutoCAD
,
Revit (preferred)
, MS Office.

Strong knowledge of Saudi standards and authority requirements.
-
Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Certifications (Preferred):

Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration.
-
PMP or equivalent (added advantage).
-
NFPA certification (preferred for fire systems).
