Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and validation of high-speed electronic hardware, including Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, and DDR4-based systems.
- Create and review schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, KiCad).
- Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and timing analysis for high-speed interfaces.
- Design mechanical enclosures, 3D models, and assemblies using SolidWorks, ensuring proper fit, heat dissipation, manufacturability, and compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Conduct feasibility studies, component selection, and design trade-offs to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.
- Perform DFM/DFT reviews, hardware bring-up, validation testing, and troubleshooting.
- Lead product certification activities, including EMC/EMI, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance (CE, FCC, UL, RoHS, REACH, IEC standards, etc.).
- Work with external certification labs and manage documentation required for compliance testing.
- Lead prototype builds, vendor discussions, and support production ramp-up.
- Mentor junior hardware engineers and provide technical leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in hardware design and development.
- Strong expertise in high-speed PCB design, including Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, DDR4, and multi-layer boards.
- Experience with signal integrity tools (e.g., HyperLynx, Sigrity, ADS) is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical enclosure and system-level hardware design.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and other lab equipment for validation and debugging.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, sensors, power supplies, and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, BLE, Wi-Fi, etc.).
- Practical experience with product certification processes (CE, FCC, UL, RoHS, EMC/EMI compliance, safety standards).
- Familiarity with thermal analysis, EMI/EMC mitigation techniques, and grounding/shielding strategies.
- Knowledge of C and C++ programming for embedded systems is a strong plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with IoT product development or industrial electronics.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, and reliability testing.
- Exposure to simulation tools (ANSYS, SPICE, HFSS, thermal/fluid analysis).
- Experience working with global suppliers, contract manufacturers, and certification bodies.
