Lead mechanical design and development of BESS enclosures, thermal management systems, mounting structures, and packaging solutions.
Manage end-to-end mechanical development lifecycle – concept, CAD modelling, prototyping, validation, and release to manufacturing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Electrical, Thermal, Software, Manufacturing) to ensure integrated system design.
Oversee mechanical simulation and analysis activities (FEA, CFD, vibration, thermal analysis, etc.).
Drive innovation in materials selection, light weighting, IP rating (dust/water ingress), thermal insulation, and fire safety compliance.
Ensure designs meet relevant standards and certifications (e.g., UL, IEC, BIS).
Manage relationships with vendors and third-party labs for prototyping and testing.
Develop and mentor junior engineers within the Mechanical R&D team.
Prepare technical documentation including design reports, BOMs, test plans, and validation summaries.
Support cost optimization and DFM/DFA efforts with manufacturing and supply chain teams.
Monitor emerging trends and technologies in energy storage and mechanical engineering.
