Senior Estimator – Civil / Stream & Wetland Restoration

Job description:

We are seeking a Senior Estimator who can lead the preconstruction effort for civil and environmental restoration projects utilizing HCSS Heavy Bid.

This role requires someone who can independently build, defend, and own the estimate—from initial plan review through final bid submission in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. You will be expected to identify risk, close scope gaps, and produce numbers that hold up in the field.

This is not a training role. We are looking for a proven estimator who can step in and contribute immediately.

Essential Functions:

• Full responsibility for assigned estimates from concept to submission
• Detailed analysis of plans, specs, and bid documents to define complete scope
• Quantity takeoffs and cost development across grading, utilities, and restoration work
• Subcontractor outreach, scope definition, and bid leveling
• Identification and resolution of scope gaps, overlaps, and risk exposure
• Development of estimate assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions
• Maintenance of accurate pricing data and estimate backup documentation
• Coordination with operations to ensure clean handoff and project alignment

Qualifications:

• 7–10+ years of estimating experience in civil/sitework construction utilizing HCSS Heavy Bid.
• Demonstrated ability to build complete, accurate estimates independently
• Strong understanding of grading, excavation, utilities, and site development
• Experience with stream restoration or wetland mitigation preferred
• Ability to identify risk and make sound judgment calls under bid deadlines
• Proven track record of estimates that translate successfully to field execution
• High level of organization, accountability, and attention to detail
• Field experience or strong field understanding required
• Advanced proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid Software
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Primavera (preferred)

Pay:

$120,000 - 150,000 (Based on Experience) + Performance Bonus

Schedule:

Monday – Friday

50 hours
