- Forecast material requirements based on consumption trends and department needs.
- Coordinate with departments (OT, Pharmacy, Labs, etc.) to collect purchase requisitions.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Maintain strong relationships and manage contracts, renewals, and performance evaluations.
- Work with the stores and inventory teams to monitor stock levels and avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure FIFO and other inventory best practices are followed.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Ensure procurement complies with hospital policies and relevant legal/regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchase orders, bills, GRNs, and supplier records.
- Ensure all purchased items meet the required quality standards and certifications.
- Coordinate with the Quality/Clinical team for approval of medical items.
- Generate periodic procurement reports (cost, usage, supplier performance).
- Track budget vs. actual spending.
