Senior Executive - Supply Chain Management

Midgard-SG is looking for a Senior Executive – Supply Chain Management who will be responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring uninterrupted availability of materials, equipment and services required for business continuity and operational excellence. The role requires strategic oversight of procurement, logistics, inventory management, contract administration, vendor management and supply planning while ensuring compliance with commercial, operational and HSE standards.

The candidate is expected to bring strong industry knowledge, commercial acumen and leadership capabilities to support operational efficiency, cost optimization and supply risk mitigation in complex industrial environments.

  • Support the development and execution of supply chain strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead demand planning, material forecasting, and supply planning to support operational requirements.
  • Develop quarterly procurement and logistics plans based on production, project.
  • Identify supply chain improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost performance.
  • Experience with QMS Audits.
  • Lead procurement activities for direct and indirect materials, equipment, spare parts, chemicals, consumables, and services.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for critical operational categories.
  • Manage tendering processes including RFQs, RFPs, bid evaluations, technical-commercial comparisons, and supplier negotiations.
  • Ensure procurement activities are conducted in line with company policies and governance requirements.
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to reduce total procurement cost while maintaining quality and reliability.
  • Lead preparation, review, negotiation, and administration of supply, service, logistics, and operational contracts.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with commercial, legal, operational, and risk management requirements.
  • Monitor contract utilization, renewals, amendments, and vendor performance obligations.
  • Resolve commercial disputes, claims, and contractual deviations where required.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Lead supplier prequalification, evaluation, onboarding, and performance reviews.
  • Conduct vendor audits and ensure compliance with operational, safety, and quality standards.
  • Develop alternate sourcing strategies to reduce supply dependency and business risk.
  • Monitor warehouse practices, stock accuracy, cycle counts, and material preservation standards.
  • Ensure critical materials remain available for operations and shutdown activities.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics activities for equipment, materials, chemicals, and project cargo.
  • Ensure transportation operations comply with HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor freight performance, customs clearance (where applicable), and material movement timelines.
  • Coordinate with project teams, operations, and logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, audit requirements, and internal controls.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE, regulatory, ethical sourcing, and corporate governance standards.
  • Identify supply chain risks including supplier dependency, logistics disruptions, and market volatility.
  • Develop mitigation plans and contingency sourcing strategies.
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, Projects, QA/QC, and HSE departments.
  • Provide supply chain insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Prepare and present supply chain KPIs, cost savings reports, procurement analytics, supplier scorecards, and risk assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function.
  • Mentor junior SCM team members and support capability development.

Required Qualifications

a) Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or related discipline.

Experience Requirements

a) Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management.

b) Mandatory industry exposure in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Refinery, or Heavy Process Industries.

c) Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management, inventory planning, and logistics operations.

d) Experience handling high-value operational, project, and maintenance procurement categories.

e) Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Odoo or equivalent SCM platforms.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Islamabad: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
