Senior Fabricator & Model Editor – Scale Model Making

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Fabricator & Model Editor to join our production team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for hands-on fabrication of scale models as well as editing, finishing, and refining model components to meet the highest standards of quality and realism.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication

• Construct architectural, industrial, and custom scale models using a variety of materials (acrylic, ABS, foam, wood, resin, etc.)
• Operate CNC machines, laser cutters, and hand tools for precision model assembly
• Work with 3D-printed components and integrate them seamlessly into physical model builds
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, CAD files, and design briefs accurately
• Manage material selection, cutting, shaping, bonding, and structural assembly

Editing & Finishing

• Sand, paint, texture, and finish model surfaces to achieve photorealistic results
• Edit and refine 3D-printed parts — including support removal, surface prep, and detailing
• Apply lighting systems, landscaping elements, water features, and miniature accessories
• Perform quality checks and make corrections to ensure models match client specifications
• Collaborate with the design and 3D printing team to resolve technical issues during production

Senior Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide junior fabricators on techniques and best practices
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery
• Liaise with project managers and clients on fabrication requirements and timelines

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in scale model making, fabrication, or a related field
• Proficiency with model-making tools: laser cutters, CNC routers, airbrush, hand tools
• Experience working with 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS) is a strong advantage
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and 3D design files (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of craftsmanship
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Team player with good communication skills
• Diploma or degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Fine Arts, or related field preferred
