ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Field Claim Representative, you’ll independently handle all types of property claims, including complex and high-severity claims within an assigned territory. This is a field-based role with time split between on-site inspections and administrative responsibilities. This role includes regular in-person collaboration and engagement with team members and leadership.

You’ll serve as a trusted expert—managing challenging losses, making sound coverage decisions, and helping mentor others on the team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Handle Complex Claims

  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve high-exposure property claims
  • Conduct on-site inspections to assess cause, scope, and value of damage
  • Analyze coverage, set reserves, and negotiate fair settlements
  • Manage claims involving attorneys, public adjusters, and multiple parties

Serve as a Field Leader

  • Represent GMIC professionally with policyholders, agents, and vendors
  • Deliver a high level of service during stressful claim situations
  • Identify potential fraud and escalate as appropriate

Mentor & Support the Team

  • Provide guidance to less experienced adjusters
  • Assist with onboarding and training
  • Contribute to quality reviews and process improvements

Stay Organized & Compliant

  • Maintain accurate documentation and claim files
  • Follow all regulatory and company guidelines

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Strong expertise in property claims, estimating, and construction concepts
  • Advanced investigation, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex claims independently
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with claims systems, Microsoft Office, and field technology

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 7–10 years of claims adjusting experience, including complex losses
  • Industry designation (AIC, CPCU, etc.) preferred
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
