Scope

The Senior Finance Officer computes, classifies and enters numerical data into financial software to complete financial records and provide excellent customer service, effective communication, be dependable and maintain confidentiality in all situations


Dimensions of the job :

Duties are carried out for the company and all its subsidiaries, associated and connected entities.


Principle accountabilities, role and responsibilities

  • Receive, record, and accurately process invoices in line with delegated authority, including recalculating of price extensions, due dates, discounts, VAT, account codes and payment
  • Process authorized employee reimbursement requests
  • Ensure all VAT is accounted for correctly to maximize VAT reimbursement
  • Offer suggestions to improve accounts payable processes and procedures
  • Monthly reconciliation of all Accounts Payable and Creditor ledgers balances (with nominal ledger control account) in line with the published monthly timetable
  • Controls and maintains the purchase ledger systems; producing reports for Financial Accountant to monitor accruals and prepayments effectively
  • To maintain the integrity of all (existing and new) suppliers in line with company policies and procedures and report discrepancies to senior management
  • To ensure segregation of duties always to ensure minimal risk of data manipulation and errors
  • Produce timely supplier payment runs in line with payment terms, with robust detailed back up schedules
  • LC Documentation
  • Handle corporate banking relationships and ensure timely renewal of credit facilities.
  • Coordinate with banks for financing, trade facilities, and treasury-related matters.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance for all banking transactions.
  • Assist in budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial forecasting
  • Step in for Accounts Receivable Clerk in their absence
  • All ad hoc tasks and projects designated by the Financial Accountant

Essential knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Ability to develop and maintain work deadlines
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to provide quality customer service
  • Ability to exercise reliability, responsibility, dependability and fulfill obligations
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and thorough completion of work tasks
  • Computer literacy including good proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint)
  • Experience of standard accounting packages and ERP systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable, efficient, and effective with high level of integrity

Desirable knowledge and skills

  • At least 3-5 years’ work experience within similar profile
  • At least 2-3 years’ industry experience
  • SAP or ERP working experience


Qualifications

  • (B. Com/ M.com & CA- Passed / ACCA)- equivalent standard of educational qualifications from other countries will be considered
