Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in driving financial visibility, strategic insight, and disciplined decision-making across the organization. This role requires exceptional analytical horsepower, intellectual rigor, and the ability to work through large, complex data sets to extract actionable business insights.
This position demands advanced-level Excel expertise and highly polished PowerPoint capabilities. The individual must be capable of building sophisticated financial models from scratch, mining and structuring raw data using advanced formulas, and transforming complex analyses into clear, executive-ready presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Planning & Partnership
- Partner directly with the CFO and executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategy, annual operating plans, and long-range forecasts.
- Provide data-driven insight to influence capital allocation, growth initiatives, and operational improvements.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders across functions.
2. Advanced Financial Modeling & Scenario Analysis
- Build and maintain complex financial models, including driver-based forecasting models, multi-scenario analysis, ROI models, and cash flow projections.
- Develop detailed sensitivity analyses and stress testing scenarios.
- Translate business assumptions into structured, dynamic Excel models.
3. Data Mining & Large-Scale Analysis (Excel Mastery Required)
- Extract, structure, and analyze large datasets from financial systems, exports, and operational data sources.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions (nested formulas, INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP,
SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, logical functions, array formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and
advanced data tools) to reconcile, clean, and transform data.
- Build repeatable, scalable Excel tools to improve reporting efficiency and analytical depth.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and auditability across models and analyses.
- This role requires the ability to independently work through thousands of data lines, identify
inconsistencies, and produce clean, decision-ready outputs.
4. Performance Monitoring & KPI Development
- Design and implement KPIs and dashboards to track financial and operational performance.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis and trend analysis.
- Identify key drivers impacting revenue, cost structure, margin, and cash flow.
5. Budgeting, Forecasting & Long-Range Planning
- Lead or support annual budgeting processes and rolling forecasts.
- Analyze historical performance and operational drivers to improve forecast precision.
- Continuously refine forecasting methodologies and assumptions.
6. Executive Reporting & Board Materials (PowerPoint Excellence Required)
- Develop high-quality, executive-level presentations in PowerPoint for senior leadership and the Board.
- Translate complex financial analysis into concise, visually compelling narratives.
- Ensure materials are structured, logically sequenced, visually clean, and decision-oriented.
- Maintain high standards for clarity, formatting discipline, and executive readiness.
7. Investment & Capital Analysis
- Evaluate capital projects, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses, IRR/NPV modeling, and risk assessments.
- Present recommendations supported by rigorous financial analysis.
8. Risk Management & Controls
- Identify financial risks, model potential impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial standards.
- Promote data accuracy and analytical discipline across the organization.
9. Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and eliminate manual inefficiencies.
- Implement automation within Excel (advanced functions, data connections, structured models).
- Improve reporting consistency and analytical throughput.
10. Special Projects
- Lead high-priority analytical initiatives as assigned by leadership.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and executive-ready outputs under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA, CFA, or
CPA preferred.
- 3–6+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, or FP&A (Senior-level expectations).
- Advanced Excel proficiency is mandatory. Candidate must demonstrate high-level capability in financial modeling, complex formula construction, pivot tables, large-data manipulation, and structured model design.
- Strong PowerPoint proficiency required, including experience preparing executive and board-level materials.
- Proven experience building financial models from scratch (not template-dependent).
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses clearly and confidently.
- High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to accuracy.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
