Senior Financial Analyst - Manufacturing - Batavia, IL

Eagle Flexible Packaging is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for supporting the financial health and strategic direction of the organization through the delivery of accurate reporting, actionable insights, and forward-looking analysis. This position partners closely with leaders throughout the organization to drive informed decision-making, improve financial performance, and enhance reporting processes. This role will have a strong focus on cost analysis, operational performance metrics, and continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business decision-making.
  • Perform variance analysis (budget vs. actual, forecast vs. actual) and clearly communicate drivers and risks to leadership.
  • Prepare journal entries and review general ledger accounts, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Lead or support the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate close and reconciliation processes.
  • Support the development and execution of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Partner with department leaders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and align financial plans with operational goals.
  • Continuously update forecasts based on business trends, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Provide financial analysis for capital expenditures, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Support leadership with scenario modeling, business cases, and profitability analysis.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely processing, strong internal controls, and continuous improvement of workflows.
  • Collaborate internally to resolve discrepancies and improve vendor management processes.
  • Leverage ERP and business intelligence tools to enhance reporting capabilities and data visibility.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations.
  • Support system upgrades, implementations, or integrations as needed.
  • Work closely with leaders throughout the organization to provide financial insights and support company objectives.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and general ledger processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Leadership acumen, including ability to coach and manage.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Professional proficiency in verbal and written English, including ability to effectively and professionally communicate with individuals in diverse roles.
  • Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience with EPS Radius.
  • Experience in the flexible packaging industry.
  • Experience supervising accounting or finance professionals.
  • Exposure to financial modeling, scenario planning, and KPI development.
  • Experience with system implementations or ERP upgrades.

  • 401K Plan – Plan entry date is the first of the month following 6 months of service. Eagle provides its employees with a 100% match up to 1% and 50% match up to 6%.
  • Company Paid Short Term Disability – The Short Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle.
  • Company Paid Long Term Disability – The Long Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle.
  • Life Insurance – The Basic Life premium is 100% paid by Eagle and is a flat $20,000 benefit for all FT, benefit eligible employees. Employees have the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance for self, spouse, and dependent children.
  • Vacation/PTO: The amount of vacation/paid time off (PTO) employees receive each year starts at 80 hours (2 weeks) each year, which accrues at a rate of 1.538 hours per week, and increases with the length of employment.
  • 8 Company Paid Holidays – Eligible after 60 days of employment.
  • Sick Leave – Eligible for paid sick days at the rate of 3 days (24 hours) per year after 6 months of service (prorated for per the calendar year).
  • Tuition Reimbursement – Following 6 months of employment, employees are eligible for reimbursement for courses, certifications, and training programs that support their Eagle careers.
