Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in underwriting, executing, and managing multifamily real estate investments. This individual will lead detailed financial modeling efforts, evaluate acquisition and development opportunities, assist in structuring debt and equity, and support ongoing asset management initiatives.

This position requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel modeling skills, and a solid understanding of multifamily investment fundamentals. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of relevant real estate finance experience and can independently manage underwriting assignments and present findings to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities Investment Underwriting & Financial Modeling

  • Lead underwriting for multifamily acquisitions and development opportunities.
  • Build and maintain advanced Excel cash flow models (10-year projections, waterfalls, promote structures).
  • Analyze IRR, NPV, equity multiple, yield-on-cost, cap rate sensitivity, and stress scenarios.
  • Model various debt structures (agency, bridge, construction loans, preferred equity).
  • Evaluate hold/sell strategies and exit assumptions.

Transaction Execution & Due Diligence

  • Manage financial aspects of due diligence including lease audits, expense analysis, and third-party reports.
  • Review historical operating statements and validate underwriting assumptions.
  • Coordinate with lenders, brokers, attorneys, and equity partners.
  • Prepare detailed investment committee memoranda and presentation materials.

Asset Management & Portfolio Analysis

  • Monitor asset performance relative to pro forma.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly variance reports.
  • Support capital improvement budgeting and ROI analysis.
  • Assist in refinance and disposition underwriting.

Market & Strategic Analysis

  • Conduct submarket supply/demand and rent trend analysis.
  • Evaluate competitive properties and rent comparables.
  • Support portfolio strategy and capital allocation decisions.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of experience in multifamily real estate finance, acquisitions, development, investment banking, or related field.
  • Direct underwriting experience preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling (required).
  • Experience with Argus Enterprise strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of real estate valuation and capital markets.
  • Familiarity with agency lending (Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac), bridge, and construction financing.
  • Experience with CoStar, Yardi, or similar systems is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
