What you’ll do:


The Senior Financial Business Analyst will join the Finance and Accounting team reporting directly to the Accounting Manager and up through the Controller and CFO office. This role is ideal for someone who possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems, and solutions within their market, and thrives in helping a company make better decisions, solve complex issues and execute new practices that propel a business toward their critical objectives.

The Senior Financial Business Analyst will be responsible for providing critical financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, budgeting and strategic insights to support the company’s growth and profitability. Exceptional accuracy and attention to minute details is an absolute requirement. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive financial decision-making, optimize cost structures, and ensure financial compliance. The incumbent will play a key part in managing financial performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities, assessing financial risks, analyzing economic conditions and trending data, ensuring the alignment of financial goals with company objectives. This role will work closely with senior executive leadership, sales, and plant management to influence decision- making and drive financial and operational profit initiatives.

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
    Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for senior leadership.
  • Cost & Sales Analysis: Analyze cost structures related to steel production, including raw materials, labor, overhead, and capital expenditures. Provide insights on ways to reduce costs and improve profitability.
  • Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future financial performance, including production costs, pricing strategies, and capital investment needs.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with sales, production, plant operations, and supply chain teams to gather data, understand performance trends, and develop actionable financial strategies to optimize performance.
  • Reporting: Present financial performance and key metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders, highlighting areas of risk, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks associated with market volatility (e.g., steel price fluctuations, raw material costs) and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Provide analytical support for ad-hoc projects, including cost-benefit analyses, capital expenditure evaluations, and ROI assessments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements within the financial reporting and analysis process, leveraging automation and new technologies where applicable.


What you’ll need:


  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree - Finance, Accounting or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred. Proven record of being a top-ranked academic performer.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis and data analytics required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus). Business intelligence platform experience is a strong plus must with strong knowledge of financial software and data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) to provide insights and drive business performance. US GAAP knowledge to the extent needed in modeling balance sheet, P&L, and cashflows.
  • Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of cost structures, and the impact of market dynamics on financial performance. Manufacturing experience a plus. Private Equity experience a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders. Ability to lead fact-based discussions and participate in strategic conversations cross-functionally.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience working cross-functionally with multiple levels of management and internal and external departments.

  • AI Proficiency in financial planning and analytics is a plus
  • Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify financial issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to optimize business performance.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and adapting to new financial regulations, market trends, and operational changes.
