Job Summary

The Senior Food Service Designer position supports all Design Studio functions from managing multiple simultaneous projects to providing design assistance and troubleshooting solutions for designs. Develops design and construction packages including schematic layouts, design development, construction documents, specifications, spot rough-in utility drawings, etc. Coordinates with manufacturers through the design process to identify and effectively communicate clear design direction for a multitude of Food Service operations in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Food Service Designer has a strong ability to operate independently however thrives in a Team environment to accomplish set goals.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Design Team and executes production on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Provides assistance, and troubleshooting solutions for multiple internal clients
  • Develops design and construction packages including but not limited to layouts, specifications, spot rough-ins and utility schedules for commercial kitchen designs
  • Coordinates manufacturer shop drawings for design implementation into active design documents
  • Advances our position within the marketplace through continuous design improvements and offerings
  • Collaborates in Team environment to develop process and design improvement initiatives
  • Engages in daily tracking of progress and show visibility of production on a daily/ weekly basis
  • Receives feedback and implements direction from Senior Level design team members

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.

Remote Work Qualifications

  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (CT, DE, GA, MD, NC, PA, SC, VA, or WV). H-1B Visa Sponsorship Not Available, W2 only.

Experience

  • Collaborates in Team environments and operates with minimal direction
  • Has minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Food Service Design
  • Must have strong organization skills and proven ability to excel in Team environments
  • College degree or Certification in Architecture is preferred however not required
  • Possess an analytical, and detailed personality with strong ambition to succeed
  • Experience successfully supporting client initiatives through design lifecycles
  • Has natural ability to see inefficiencies and strategize initiatives accordingly


Education

  • This role does not require a degree. We value relevant skills and experience and alignment with our core values above all else.

  • Autodesk Revit experience (required)
  • Sketchup experience (preferred not required)
  • Enscape experience (preferred not required)
  • Microsoft Office experience (required)
  • Strong communication skills are a must
  • Team player that collaborates at a very high level
  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in Food Service Design (required)
