Senior Front End Developer

OtterSoft has an open position, full-time contracted. We are looking for a Senior Front End Developer with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience to join our team. This role requires deep expertise in React Native application development, front-end architecture, user experience design, and scalable mobile application frameworks. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled engineer who can architect, build, and optimize modern mobile experiences while leveraging AI-powered development workflows.

About the Role

We are looking for a high-velocity Front End Developer who believes the future of software development is AI-first — not AI-assisted. This is not a traditional development role.

We build, ship, test, and iterate daily.

What You'll Do

• Architect and develop enterprise-grade React Native mobile applications.
• Design scalable front-end frameworks and reusable component libraries.
• Use AI tools as a primary development accelerator.
• Deliver working, production-ready software daily.
• Rapidly prototype, iterate, and refine mobile user experiences.
• Establish front-end architecture standards and development best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers on React Native development.
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers, and product stakeholders.
• Advocate for automation and AI adoption throughout the SDLC.
• Continuously improve application performance, maintainability, and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance mobile applications using React Native.
• Define and implement scalable front-end architecture and component strategies.
• Build responsive, intuitive, and visually engaging user interfaces.
• Develop reusable UI components and design systems.
• Collaborate with UX/UI teams to transform designs into exceptional mobile experiences.
• Optimize application performance across iOS and Android platforms.
• Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex front-end and mobile application issues.
• Ensure security, accessibility, maintainability, and scalability across applications.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expert-level React Native development experience.
• Strong experience designing and implementing front-end architecture for enterprise applications.
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Extensive experience building and maintaining mobile applications for both iOS and Android.
• Strong understanding of component-based architecture and state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand, or Context API.
• Experience implementing responsive and adaptive mobile user interfaces.
• Knowledge of mobile performance optimization techniques and best practices.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and scalable application architecture.
• Experience working in Agile environments with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Expo and advanced React Native tooling.
• Familiarity with AI-powered coding tools such as Cursor.ai, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Detox, or React Native Testing Library.
• Experience with accessibility standards and mobile usability best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-based mobile services and integrations.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders or customer-facing product teams.
