Senior Front-End SDET (React, TypeScript)

And now we are looking for a Senior Front-End SDET to join us as part of our team.

About the role:

As a Senior Front-End SDET, you will own and drive the quality strategy for front-end products and the shared platform by building scalable automation, defining test approaches that balance UI coverage with lower-level tests, and establishing CI/CD quality gates that enable fast, safe delivery. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering and Product, influence quality practices across teams, and mentor other SDETs.

Work Environment:

You will join a dynamic, distributed engineering team operating under a strong “One-Team Mentality”.
The team follows a Stream-Aligned Team model and works within the Scrum framework, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders, including 3rd-party partners.

As a qualified expert You will

Quality strategy & leadership

• Define and execute test strategy for complex, distributed front-end systems and platform capabilities.
• Influence and scale quality practices across teams; advocate for a quality-first mindset.
• Identify, document, and mitigate technical and quality risks; proactively surface quality status and improvement opportunities.

Test automation frameworks (UI-first, but full-stack aware)

• Design, build, and evolve scalable, reliable automation frameworks for UI applications, and extend coverage through API/integration/system layers where needed.
• Define UI testing approaches that optimize signal-to-noise, balancing UI tests with lower-level tests to keep suites stable and fast.
• Improve automation coverage, reliability, and execution speed through better patterns, tooling, and architecture.

UI, API, integration, and system validation

• Own hands-on testing across UI, integration, and system levels.
• Validate system behavior, integrations, and data consistency, including complex environment and test data considerations.
• Bring strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills to quickly isolate failures and drive fixes with engineering teams.

CI/CD quality gates & standards

• Design and maintain CI/CD quality gates and automation standards that keep releases safe and predictable.
• Maintain and improve test stability in pipelines; help teams troubleshoot build/deploy and test execution issues.

Collaboration, mentorship, documentation

• Collaborate across teams to meet sprint goals; participate in core Agile ceremonies and planning.
• Mentor and support Middle SDETs; raise the overall quality bar through coaching, standards, and reviews.
• Document testing approaches, frameworks, and quality guidelines so practices scale across the organization.

Performance, observability, and reliability (as needed)

• Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of systems under test; collaborate on testability, observability, and performance improvements.
• Apply or guide performance, contract, and data-focused testing where it adds meaningful quality signal.

AI-assisted engineering practices

• Help teams adopt and use AI tools responsibly in development and testing workflows (prompting, validation, refactoring standards), ensuring security and maintainability.

We’re looking for you if you have

• 4+ years experience in an SDET role with strong ownership for quality outcomes.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and proven ability to build maintainable automation as production-quality code.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks and patterns, especially UI automation frameworks that are scalable and reliable.
• Practical expertise in UI, API, integration ; ability to define the right level of test for the risk.
• Strong understanding of micro-frontends (MFE) and distributed systems; ability to test across service boundaries and complex environments.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD quality gates and automation standards (GitLab CI context).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and OpenAPI-based integration expectations.
• Strong front-end technical foundation: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, W3C, plus modern npm/build pipelines, and the ability to debug front-end behavior effectively.
• Strong debugging/root-cause analysis skills and comfort working with complex test environments and test data pipelines.
• Ability to influence quality practices cross-functionally; excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to mentor and support other engineers/SDETs

Nice to have

• Practical backend, and system testing
• Experience with Elastic/ELK (or similar systems) and related validation strategies.
• Strong knowledge of containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes; comfort troubleshooting containerized environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and/or understanding modern web delivery (object storage, CDN, caching) and IaC concepts (Terraform).
• Experience with Prometheus/Grafana and using observability data to improve test reliability and system quality.
• Experience with performance, contract, and data-focused testing practices.
• Ability to analyze browser profiler reports and diagnose web app performance issues.
• Familiarity with accessibility principles and testing approaches.
• Advanced use of collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence/GitLab) and creating workflow optimizations.
