Senior Full-Charge Bookkeeper (In Office)

Pay: $60,000 – $65,000 per year
Compensation may be adjusted for a highly qualified candidate based on experience.

Position Summary

Francis Enterprises is seeking a Senior Full-Charge Bookkeeper to take ownership of the company’s day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions. This is a full-time, in-office role with controller-level responsibility for bookkeeping, monthly close, cash oversight, and financial reporting.

We are a growing company doing approximately $8-10M per year and need someone experienced, dependable, and hands-on — not entry-level. This role works directly with the President and external CPA and is responsible for keeping the books accurate, current, organized, and decision-ready.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks
  • Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bill payment
  • Reconcile all bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and balance sheet accounts monthly
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate
  • Complete month-end close
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, including:
  • Profit & Loss
  • Balance Sheet
  • Cash Flow
  • Monitor the company’s cash position, upcoming obligations, and overall cash flow health
  • Prepare cash summaries and provide financial visibility to leadership
  • Identify discrepancies, research issues, and correct errors promptly
  • Maintain clean, organized, audit-ready records
  • Work directly with the external CPA on tax prep, year-end close, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure payments, filings, and deadlines are completed on time

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recent experience as a Full-Charge Bookkeeper or senior bookkeeping/accounting professional
  • Strong QuickBooks experience required
  • Strong understanding of:
  • General ledger accounting
  • Monthly reconciliations
  • Financial statements
  • Cash flow oversight
  • AP/AR and bookkeeping controls
  • Experience working with an outside CPA
  • Able to work independently and take full ownership of the books
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Stable work history required
