Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical projects across diverse infrastructure and construction sectors. Duties
- Lead geotechnical investigations, including site assessments, soil sampling, laboratory testing, and data analysis to inform design and construction strategies.
- Develop comprehensive geotechnical reports detailing findings, recommendations, and risk assessments with clarity and technical precision.
- Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, structural engineers, and construction teams to integrate geotechnical insights into overall project planning and execution.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Utilize advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, ArcGIS, GIS platforms, Mathcad, HEC models, SWMM, and Land Surveying techniques for system design, schematics, and modeling purposes.
- Oversee construction management activities including construction inspection, site supervision, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and adherence to safety standards.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports with exceptional clarity using technical writing skills; communicate findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Coordinate with contractors on construction estimating and scheduling to optimize project timelines and resource allocation.
- Conduct land surveying activities as needed for site layout and boundary verification related to geotechnical work.
- Support water treatment and wastewater projects by providing geotechnical expertise related to hydraulics and system design.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in geotechnical engineering within infrastructure or construction projects; at least five years of relevant work experience is ideal.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles combined with expertise in geotechnical analysis methods such as HEC models and system design techniques.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, ArcGIS, GIS platforms, Mathcad, SWMM, HECRAS (Hydraulic Engineering Center), Land Surveying tools, and Water/Wastewater treatment systems.
- Experience managing project schedules using project management tools; familiarity with construction management practices is essential.
- Excellent technical writing skills for preparing detailed reports; ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
- Skilled in construction inspection practices with a focus on safety compliance and quality assurance.
- Knowledge of land surveying procedures relevant to geotechnical investigations. Pay: $83,990.48 - $101,149.83 per year
