Senior Grant Writer (Part-Time)

20-30 Hours per Week (Non-Exempt)

Reporting to and working closely with the Executive Director, the Senior Grant Writer will spearhead grant writing, reporting, and prospect research during a critical period of organizational growth. As the primary writer of grant proposals and reports, this role is responsible for producing accurate, compelling, and timely submissions to support Mabel Center’s fundraising goals.

Responsibilities:

· Research, write, prepare, and track new grant proposals to secure financial support from foundations and corporations.

· Update, prepare, submit, and track renewing grant proposals.

· Report back to funders with the information they request.

· Coordinate with legal and finance teams to create client narratives, source impact data, and acquire supporting documentation required for proposals and funder reports.

· Communicate with funders to provide any additional requested information or materials.

· Embody Mabel Center’s voice and values in all grant proposals and reports.

· Conduct research on foundations and corporations for potential new funding sources, prioritizing unrestricted funding to reduce administrative costs and allow the team to focus more on serving our clients.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

· Demonstrated experience writing successful fundraising proposals; a minimum five years of grant writing experience is preferred.

· Knowledge of foundational and corporate fundraising.

· Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.

· Attention to detail relating to grant management and impact data.

· A broad understanding of the challenges facing the immigrant and refugee community.

· Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

Salary: The pay range for the position is $38-$42 per hour, depending on experience.

Background: Mabel Center for Immigrant Justice’s mission is to provide pro bono legal representation primarily to asylum seekers who have faced disproportionate challenges on their path to safety, such as family separation, family detention, and/or who were subjected to an unfair and expedited asylum process. Our focus is on serving asylum seekers who are at risk of imminent deportation and who are filing their asylum application in Immigration Court.

Pay: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour
