SENIOR HEAVY EQUPMENT MECHANIC

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. Your expertise will keep our fleet running smoothly, minimize downtime, and support our commitment to safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive repairs on heavy equipment including but not limited to Bucket Truck, Log Truck, Skid Steer, Excavator, Loader, Wood Processor
• Conduct preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan and improve reliability across all machinery types.
• Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, cutting, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical components.
• Utilize power tools and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, assemble, and test heavy machinery components.
• Collaborate with team members to execute repairs efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and electrical diagnostics.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools essential.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation to communicate effectively with clients or team members.
• Physical ability for heavy lifting, working in confined spaces or elevated positions; commitment to safety standards at all times.
• Travel to job sites and fix machines (mobile) as needed

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
