Senior Hotel/Hospitality Interior Designer
As a Senior Interior Designer, you will be at the forefront of shaping innovative, luxury interior designs while maintaining the creative, collaborative spirit that defines our studio. You will strive to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams on high impact, local & global projects, ensuring the highest standards of design excellence, client satisfaction, and environmental responsibility. This role requires both creative vision and leadership as you will be working closely with other members of the design team to support a unified vision and the successful completion of projects through presentations, finishes, materials, design documentation and administration of construction.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8+ years' experience
- Minimum of 5 luxury hotel projects designed - shown in portfolio
- Strong experience in UAE, knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and environmental considerations
- Proficient in Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, Rhino, and similar design software; Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
- Strong leadership & team management - able to deliver 1-2 projects simultaneously, lead junior team members, independent sketching and 3D modeling
- Strategic thinking - problem solving & decision making; ability to implement short and long term strategies to address challenges and mitigate risks during design processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with stakeholders, clients, and team members
- Creative portfolio demonstrating Hospitality, High End Residential and F&B projects
- Strong analytical, time management, organisational and detail oriented skills
- Adaptability, cultural sensitivity and ability to thrive in a fast paced international environment such as Dubai
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple design scopes under guidance of Design Principal
Key Responsibilities and Objectives
- Project Delivery - Work with Design Principal to create design narratives, sketches, models, mood boards and 3D modelling; develop designs from concept to construction documentation and lead coordination efforts.
- Client Interaction - Liaise with clients and consultants on design matters, technical coordination, schedules and deliverables.
- Team Performance - Lead and mentor project teams; provide guidance and technical expertise.
- Project Scope Management - Oversee production of design presentations, renderings, modelling and documentation; identify issues or conflicts and report to senior management; maintain understanding of trends and sustainability practices.
- Project Setup - Collate briefing information from clients; support planning of design team workflows and assignments; oversee drawing documentation and BIM standards.
- Design - Follow project design direction; lead design of scopes; mentor and inspire design teams; adopt innovative solutions; participate in critiques and client reviews; champion sustainability and environmental performance.
- Tender and Construction - Prepare tender and construction documentation; site visits to inspect construction; prepare snagging lists; review RFIs, site instructions and variations.
- Project Close Out - Ensure contractual obligations met; save project data; compile lessons learned.
- QHSE - Comply with QHSE policy, report incidents to QHSE Manager and HR.
