Waste Solution Services is seeking an organized, detail-oriented HR Generalist to support our rapidly growing organization. This role is a unique hybrid: combining hands-on HR execution with strategic HR planning, systems improvement, and workforce development.
You will manage daily HR operations including payroll, onboarding, benefits, compliance, employee requests, while also supporting HR strategy, and policy development.
This is ideal for someone who is competent in HR operations but also ready to expand into strategy, systems, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Planning, Policy, & Strategy
- Assist the Leadership in developing HR processes, policies, and workflows.
- Identify gaps in HR processes, compliance, and systems, recommending improvements.
- Support change management initiatives and strategic planning across departments.
- Develop and document HR SOPs, policies, and employee handbook updates.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Staff and owners on HR policy creation and retention initiatives.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Process biweekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Set up new hires and remove terminated employees in payroll/HRIS systems.
- Manage benefits enrollment, changes, and employee questions.
- Administer PTO tracking, overtime, and payroll adjustments.
- Maintain compliance with payroll, benefits, and employment regulations (FMLA, OSHA, etc.).
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Prepare new hire packets and onboarding schedules.
- Set up employees in HRIS, operations systems, and access tools.
- Conduct employee orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Manage offboarding, including exit interviews and system access removal.
Employee Relations & HR Administration
- Maintain accurate employee files, HR records, and compliance documentation.
- Support 30-day, 90-day, and annual performance cycles.
- Assist employees with HR-related forms, verification letters, and policy questions.
- Help manage employee relations issues confidentially and professionally.
- Coordinate training, development, and culture initiatives when needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience, including payroll & benefits administration.
- Experience supporting HR strategy, policy creation, or process improvement.
- Strong understanding of HR compliance and employment law
- Excellent organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus, not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
