Senior Infrastructure Engineer / Systems Engineer

Overview:

BlueHalo, An AV Company, is seeking a talented Senior Infrastructure Engineer / Systems Engineer to join an exciting, mission-focused program. The selected candidate will join a high performing software development team supporting mission enabling systems and is expected to apply best infrastructure engineering principles and system engineering methodologies to advance technical solutions for a federal government national security customer.

Job Description:

Lead the infrastructure management of for web applications and large-scale databases for a federal government national security customer on a high-profile topic of global importance related to an emerging technology.
Apply talents on a team in a “start-up-like" environment that emphasizes collaboration, initiative, and customer responsiveness
Build, scale, and maintain a database that ingests and normalizes a variety of file formats.
Use your experience in applying best practices in cloud infrastructure engineering and database architectures.
Translate customer desired outcomes into practical technical solutions.
Work alongside a team of full-stack software engineers using Agile methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

• 8 years or more of practical software engineering experience.
• A Bachelor’s Degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience. A Master’s Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience. A Ph.D. may be substituted for 7 years of experience.
• Demonstrated success as a cloud infrastructure engineer, to include deep understanding of infrastructure as code (IAS), DevOps, systems administration, or as a system engineer.
• Proven understanding and implementation of industry best practices for IAC or database engineering.
• Experience building and maintaining a large-scale database.
• Experience with PKI/Oauth/OIDC and implementing role-based access controls
• Proficiency in technologies such as AWS, Terraform, Ansible, CDK, Pulumi, Linux, Jenkins, Docker, Git, and PostgreSQL via RDS.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 12 years of experience or more for expanded responsibilities.
• In lieu of deep database engineering experience, software development experience using tools like MongoDB, Java, JavaScript, Apache NiFi, or Angular.
• Experience building or maintaining infrastructure for public sector organizations or large enterprise customers
  AWS Certifications
• Systems Engineer Certification
• Working and succeeding on teams following Agile methodologies
• Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Location: This position is hybrid with 3 days on-site in either Annapolis Junction, MD or Herndon, VA and 2 days work from home (optional).

Salary Range: $135,000 to $179,000 or $170,000 to $216,000 Depending on years of experience
