Senior Interior Designer

Senior Interior DesignerLuxury Custom Homes & High-End Renovations

Design Beautiful Homes. Build Trusted Relationships. Lead Projects That Matter.

At Custom One, we don't just design homes—we help clients bring their vision to life.

We're looking for a Senior Interior Designer who can confidently guide homeowners through one of the most significant investments they'll ever make while balancing creativity, technical expertise, project execution, and exceptional client service.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk creating selections all day.

This role is for a designer who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, leading projects, making decisions, and helping clients navigate complex design choices with confidence.

You'll work directly with luxury custom home and renovation clients while collaborating with architects, project managers, estimators, and construction teams to deliver remarkable homes and experiences.

Who We Are

Custom One has built a reputation for delivering exceptional custom homes and renovations through outstanding craftsmanship, communication, and client experience.

We believe great design is about more than finishes and floor plans. It's about understanding people, solving problems, and creating spaces that reflect how clients want to live.

Our team values:

  • Leadership
  • Accountability
  • Collaboration
  • Innovation
  • Excellence

We're looking for someone who shares those values and wants to help elevate both our clients and our design team.

What You'll Do: Lead the Client Experience

  • Guide clients through discovery, design, and selection meetings
  • Build strong relationships and become a trusted advisor throughout the project
  • Help clients make confident decisions regarding layouts, finishes, cabinetry, lighting, and materials
  • Present recommendations clearly and professionally
  • Balance client desires with practical design and construction realities

Drive Design Excellence

  • Develop design concepts for luxury custom homes and high-end renovations
  • Create floor plans, cabinetry layouts, elevations, lighting plans, and finish schedules
  • Produce detailed construction drawings and documentation
  • Utilize Chief Architect to create visual presentations and renderings
  • Ensure designs are both beautiful and buildable

Manage Multiple Projects

  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality
  • Coordinate selections, specifications, procurement, and installations
  • Monitor project timelines and design-related budgets
  • Conduct site visits and ensure design intent is executed properly
  • Anticipate issues before they become problems

Collaborate & Lead

  • Work closely with architects, builders, project managers, and trade partners
  • Participate in design reviews and project planning discussions
  • Mentor junior designers and support team development
  • Help improve design standards and best practices

What Makes Someone Successful Here

You enjoy building relationships but don't need constant social interaction.

You communicate clearly, directly, and professionally.

You can balance creativity with practicality.

You are comfortable making decisions and moving projects forward.

You thrive when juggling multiple priorities and solving problems quickly.

You notice details others miss and take pride in getting things right.

You enjoy ownership and accountability rather than waiting for direction.

You maintain composure under pressure and can keep projects moving despite changing circumstances.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of interior design experience
  • Experience with luxury custom homes or high-end residential renovations
  • Advanced proficiency in Chief Architect
  • Strong understanding of residential construction and architectural detailing
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Proven project management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Preferred:

  • NCIDQ Certification
  • SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, or similar visualization tools
  • Experience working with affluent clientele
  • Experience mentoring or leading other designers

Why Top Performers Enjoy This Role

  • Significant autonomy and ownership
  • Challenging and diverse projects
  • Direct client interaction and influence
  • Opportunity to lead rather than simply execute
  • High-impact role within a growing organization
  • Collaborative culture focused on excellence
  • Professional development and growth opportunities

Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Benefits:
